Flameproof Control Gears / Explosion Proof Switchgear Manufacturer India
Trimiti Electricals is a trusted manufacturer of flameproof and weatherproof control gears used across hazardous industrial zones throughout India. Also referred to as explosion proof switchgear, Ex-proof control switches, or hazardous area control gear, our products are engineered for dependable operation in environments where flammable gases, vapours, or combustible dust are present. All units are suitable for Gas Groups IIA, IIB, and IIC.
Our control gear range encompasses push button stations, rotary switches, limit switches, DOL
starters, star-delta starters, SFU units, fire alarm manual call points, and combined switch-
socket-plug units — every product built to survive the rigours of petrochemical, pharmaceutical,
paint, solvent, and chemical manufacturing environments where standard electrical gear would
pose unacceptable ignition risk.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What does 'flameproof control gear' mean?
Flameproof (Ex d) control gear is electrical switching equipment housed in a specially designed enclosure that can contain any internal ignition (sparks, arcs, or hot surfaces) and prevent flames from escaping to the external atmosphere, which may contain explosive gases or vapours.
Q2. What is the difference between a DOL starter and a star-delta starter in flameproof applications?
A DOL (Direct-On-Line) starter is used for motors up to ~200 HP. A star-delta starter reduces starting current for larger motors up to 200 HP by first connecting in star configuration and then switching to delta — critical in hazardous areas to minimise heat generation during start-up.
Q3. What gas groups are your control gears certified for?
Our flameproof control gears are suitable for Gas Groups IIA, IIB, and IIC — covering common industrial hazards including LPG, acetone, ethylene, and hydrogen.
Q4. Can I get a push button station with a indicator lamp?
Yes. We supply flameproof push button stations with indicator lamps for start/stop status visualisation in hazardous areas. Custom arrangements with multiple buttons, selectors, and lamps are also available.
Q5. Do you supply flameproof manual call points for fire alarm systems?
Yes. Our flameproof fire alarm manual call points (break-glass type) are designed for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas and can be integrated with standard fire alarm control panels.
